Our mission is to get everyone in the community involved. Young and old, people who fish for a living and fish for recreation, locals and tourists alike. Anyone who catches fish can make a difference.
Any amount of fish makes a difference. Click here to find drop off locations for your extra fish.
We also need help collecting fish and creating drop off points throughout Islamorada. Get involved and help your community.
Students receive community service hours.
THE FISH DRIVE
In our small community, we have many families that need help meeting the basic need of enough food each month. There are food pantries set up throughout the Florida Keys and places of worship like the First Baptist Church of Islamorada that feed over 400 families a month and offer dry goods through their food pantry. But rarely are proteins available to take home.
I love to spear and fish like most people in our community. Sometimes, I catch more than I really need. I thought if everyone- adults, kids, fisherman, guides- locals and tourists alike can spare that extra fish, we can help feed our community.
So, join the THE FISH DRIVE and help feed your community, "one fish at a time".
